Advanced Technology

When you seek care at our office, you are assured that Dr. Angell and his staff utilize the latest in technology to enhance the quality and fit for your dental care.

As we strive to improve our oral and maxillofacial surgical practice and to take better care of our patients, we are excited to tell you that we recently invested in the Kodakā„¢ 9000 3D extra-oral imaging system. The anatomical detail and viewing capabilities of 3D digital imaging offer a wide range of diagnostic possibilities and allows us to acquire the 3D images on a specific dental region of interest. This significantly reduces the amount of radiation to our patients, in fact, it is half the exposure for a full mouth series of dental x-rays using F-speed film.

Three dimensional images are generated in standard DICOM and JPG form for easy image sharing should collaboration on a case be necessary.

 Kodak 9000 cone beam

This advanced technology allows us to more accurately evaluate the jaws for implant placement.  Implant templates are available from most  of the major manufacturers in the software so we can choose the best fixture for each patient's specific needs. The need for bone augmentation can be more accurately determined. It also allows us to better examine and evaluate oral pathologies, root fractures and to more accurately determine the position of supernumeraries and impacted cuspids. Cone beam technology is not inteneded to replace 2-D imaging, but to serve as an invaluable adjunct in acheiving the best possible patient care.

There will be a slightly higher cost for this type of x-ray due to the technical component to interpret these images.

You can rest assured that you will receive the best oral surgical care possible with the best 3D technology available. For more information on this system you can visit Kodak  http://www.carestreamdental.com/us
