Surgical Instructions

Before Intravenous Anesthesia Sedation 

  • Refrain from smoking and NO drinking alcoholoic beverages 48 hours prior to surgery.
  • Eat a light, digestiable meal the night before your surgery.
  • Do NOT eat or drink anything (including water) for at least EIGHT (8) hours before your surgery.
  • If you take routine oral medications daily, please check with the doctor or surgical staff prior to your appointment for your instructions.
  • Remove contact lenses.
  • Do not wear nail polish or oral piercings to your appointment.
  • Wear loose fitting clothing.
  • A responsible adult must accompany you to your surgical appointment, remain in our office during surgery and must drive you home and remain with you for 24 hours.

Please call our office prior to your appointment to inform the doctor of any changes in your medical history or if you are feeling ill. Your health and well being depend on the doctor having accurate health information and medical history.
